Ecocoast Contracting LLC, a leading Marine Contracting Services company and manufacturer of innovative Marine products based in Dubai Investment Park, has an opening for a qualified and capable Accountant. The opportunity is available for an immediate start.

You’ll be working among a small but nimble and highly capable team that is in the midst of an expansionary phase. Reporting to the Finance Director, your remit will be to help transform the Finance function of the business into an integral support centre.

The purpose of the Finance function of this business is to facilitate effective decisions and exemplary customer service through timely and accurate information and processes, and this role lies at the epicenter of it all.

Essential to this role is the ability to be a lateral thinker; to rise above and beyond a checklist-filling approach to offer insights and improvement. You must be able to adopt a pragmatic approach, be able to manage expectations, and know how to elicit support from others through communication.

Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring all the Company’s financial records are prepared, recorded, updated and filed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Proactively interacting with Clients and Suppliers to ensure timely payment of receivables and payables.
- Communicating with the Projects, Warehouse and Operations Teams to ensure all financial activities are dealt with accurately and professionally to ensure seamless progress of projects.
- Preparation of accurate Weekly and Monthly Accounts Reports as required by Management. Ensure timely reconciliation of balances.
- Dealing with all Payroll related activities to ensure Company employees are paid accurately and on time.
- Responsibility for the management of the office and warehouse Petty Cash Float and the accurate recording of any and all cash dispensed.
- Maintaining accurate records of all financial transactions and accurately reconcile all accounts.
- Ensure all financial documents are filed in the appropriate Project or Company file (on Dropbox and Hardcopy).
- Ensuring strict adherence to the Company’s authorization and reporting procedures.
- Identifying and advising management of areas for improvement across work methods and personnel, proposing improvements to existing policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Analysing and scrutinizing Company expenditure, highlighting risk factors and proposing cost-saving measures to Management.
- Ensuring all Company Employees are aware and adhere to finance related processes, policies and deadlines.
- Representing the Company in a professional manner in all dealings with Employees, Clients, Suppliers and any other External Parties.

Requirements

- Qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, CPA, etc) with broad knowledge in / application of IFRS.
- Degree majoring in Accounting / Finance.
- Experience with Quickbooks / Reckon is highly desirable. Otherwise, a proven ability to grasp new systems quickly and question the status quo will be essential.
- Prior experience in the UAE would be ideal.
- Experience in Marine Contracting or a similar field is not compulsory, but would be an advantage.
- At least 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of questioning the status quo and delivering improvements.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
- Ability to develop financial models in Microsoft Excel would be a big plus.
- Attention to detail and a pragmatic mindset.
