Accounting Manager

Job description / Role

Objectives: Establishes financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information.

Main responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department.
- Process month and end year process, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, trust account statement reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity, debt activity etc.
- Coordinate and complete annual audits.
- Construct data accumulation systems for a cost accounting system.
- Create and review the controls needed for data accumulation and reporting systems.
- Coordinate physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Update standard costs in the bill of materials.
- Review standard and actual costs.
- Report on margins by product and division.
- Achieves accounting operational objectives by contributing accounting information and recommendations determining ERP system improvements; implementing change.
- Meets accounting financial objectives by scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions.
- Confirms financial status by monitoring revenue and expenses; coordinating the collection, consolidation, and evaluation of financial data; preparing special reports.
- Maintains accounting controls by establishing a chart of accounts; defining accounting policies and procedures.
- Guides other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy; applying observations and recommendations to operational issues.
- Avoids legal challenges by understanding current and proposed legislation; enforcing accounting regulations; recommending new procedures.

Gross monthly base salary: 9000 aed, negotiable

Requirements

- BS degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2 years of proven working experience involved in Finance and Cost Accounting activities.

Specialist knowledge:
- Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases.
- Ability to manipulate large amounts of data.
- Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- ERD implementation.
