Arabic Speaker - Commissioning Engineer

Job description / Role

• To deliver a high technical and professional level of service to our customers worldwide, with significant focus on safety and quality.
• Perform commissioning and site acceptance testing of SEL solutions at remote customer sites.
• Coordinate in planning of commissioning team efforts.
• Oversee, ensure quality, and provide onsite technical assistance to customers during the installation and commissioning, warranty, service, repair and maintenance of SEL power management systems.
• Document and report malfunctions and identify/analyze any undesirable trends.
• Train and assist customers with the installation, commissioning and operation of automation and/or protection systems, both on-site and from SEL offices.
• Work in a safe, healthful and environmentally sound manner, report accidents and unsafe conditions promptly, and perform ergonomic exercises to reduce likelihood of injuries.
• Develop and maintain a high level of technical expertise in electric power system protection and/or automation.
• Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge of SEL equipment and solutions to electric power system protection and automation.
• Provide regular communication to SEL and customer project management, engineering, and support groups regarding all commissioning activities and problems through regular, timely reports.
• Continuously identify, measure and improve processes.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Arabic speaking is must
• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, electronics or related field
• Minimum of seven years of field commissioning experience
• Demonstrated engineering experience in the commissioning and testing of automation and control systems.
• Experience in fault finding, diagnosis, and troubleshooting of problems associated with control systems, instrumentation, and HMI/SCADA packages
• Working knowledge of modern electrical test and measurement equipment
• Knowledge of analog and digital electronics and microprocessors
• Strong customer service, communications, and organizational skills
• Ability to work non-standard schedules at field locations with exposure to varying environmental conditions
• Ability to travel globally up to 80%
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
• Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
• Background check results satisfactory to SEL
• Negative drug test result(s)
• Experience using SEL products
• Familiarity with the commissioning and testing of electric power substations, secondary systems, and protective relays.
