Assistant Category Manager

Job description / Role

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, this large FMCG business is currently looking for a Buyer / Category Specialist / Procurement Specialist that really gets what category management is and has had exposure and working experience in implementing category strategies in their current role.

We are looking for someone that is doing a Category Manager’s role without the title and wants to bridge the gap from operational / tactical procurement into something more strategic.

Responsibilities;
• Support the execution of category strategy plans in line with the requirements of the business and the objectives of the department.
• Supporting in delivering key projects within the categories that deliver significantly better than market inflation outcomes.
• Ensure supplier relationships are effectively managed by focussing on commercial, safety and supply chain business plans.
• Manage the administration of processes including analysis, systems and contract management.
• Ensure that the key categories are managed in line with the companies framework and multinational standards.

Salary:
AED 14,000 to 15,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

We need someone that is analytically strong, with the ability to make informed decisions based on the interpretation of data available. Ideally you will be from a food or FMCG background and will currently working in the region.
