Our client is an international law firm with a strong global presence and a reputation for providing an excellent service to an impressive list of domestic and international clients. With over 400 lawyers worldwide, based in ten countries, they advise clients on the legal issues which businesses face in relation to all aspects of international commerce Reporting to the Dubai Head Office with a dotted line to the Finance Manager in London, the Revenue and Collections Manager, London and the Dubai Office Manager.

This is a hands-on role. Initially the incumbent will be responsible for the client accounts of the Dubai office, Billing and Credit Control. Eventually with the growth of the office and the Firm's plans to expand into other jurisdictions within the region, the role will broaden to include accounting, financial management and reporting for the new office(s).

Key Responsibilities include managing client accounts including ensuring that client money is protected at all times and managed in accordance with the Firms Polices and the rules of the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

Managing the receipt and payment of Client money; preparing Client Account receipts and payments, obtaining authorisations as required and posting in the Firm's Financial Management system; ensuring that monies held on client account are offset against invoices.Ensuring that balances on finalised matters are returned to the client(s) promptly; weekly review of client account balances in accordance with SRA rules and entering any breaches in the Breaches Register.

Requirements

Additionally management of working capital by ensuring the office meets its revenue and working capital targets/budgets.Working with all partners to prepare, review, finalise and dispatch invoices to clients;reviewing reports of unbilled time and disbursements in order to identify bills to be raised with the objective to reach budget levels for the month, cull dead matters, irrecoverable time and disbursements and effecting write-offs of WIP (unbilled time), unbilled disbursements and outstanding bills in accordance with authorisation limits.

Other duties include credit control, managing missing time sheet reports and acting as support to theFinance team with Month-end closing, Accounts Payable and disbursements, Bank reconciliations, Petty cash management, Closing and archiving completed client matters and conducting ad hoc tasks as directed from time to time.

Our client is looking for a Degree in Commerce or Accounting and at least two to three years experience working in a law or professional services firm. Must have experience in operating computerised accounting systems and a knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules.
