Employment: Full Time

Our client, a prestigious International Law Firm, with a strong global presence and reputation seeks an Assistant Management Accountant to join their team.

A hands-on role, the right candidate will be responsible for Client accounts, Billing and Credit Control, which, with the expansion planned for the Company will lead to other responsibilities to include accounting and financial management.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure client money is protected at all times and managed in accordance with the Company and Regulated Polices of the rules of Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA)
- Manage the receipt and payment reconcilliation of Client money
- Prepare Client Account receipts and payments, obtaining authorisations as required and posting in the Firm's Financial Management system.
- Ensure monies held on the clients account are offset against invoices.
- Ensure that balances on finalised matters are returned to the client(s) promptly.
- Weekly review of client account balances in accordance with SRA rules.
- Entering any breaches in the Breaches Register.
- Ensuring the office meets revenue and working capital targets/budgets.
- Work with all partners to prepare, review, finalise and dispatch invoices to clients
- Review reports of unbilled time and disbursements in order to:
- Identify bills to be raised with the objective to reach budget levels for the month Cull dead matters, irrecoverable time and disbursements
- Establish periodic commercial valuation.
- Write-off WIP, unbilled disbursements and outstanding bills in accordance with authorisation limits.
- Ensure you are aware of the agreed terms of each client taken on including billing and payment terms.
- Managing the debt collection process and setting up monthly debt meetings.
- Contacting clients, identifying issues, proactively solving issues to ensure due payments are received.
- Monitoring levels of client exposures and reporting excesses.

Act as support to Finance team at times, which may include:
- Month-end closing, Accounts Payable and disbursements, Bank reconciliations and Petty cash management
- Close and archive completed client matters.
- Conduct ad hoc tasks as directed
- Preparing missing time sheet reports and chasing defaulters.

Requirements

- Bachelors degree in Commerce or Accounting;
- At least two to three years law firm experience working
- Experience of operating computerised accounting systems;
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the firm;
- Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects is essential;
- Must have strong attention to detail and proven ability to handle confidential information in a professional and discreet manner;
- Knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules would be preferable;
- Good working knowledge of Excel and Word.
