Job description / Role
Our client, The largest Regional Seaport in the Middle East is looking to recruit a UAE National for an Assistant Manager position for Global Safety & Environment.
The main purpose of the Global Health & Safety Assistant Manager will be to assist the senior manager and manager of global safety and environment in all duties involving safety and environment that would support the implementation of the company policies and procedures.
The role of Assistant Manager for Global Safety & Environment in Dubai will include but not be limited to the following:
- Conducts fatal risk standards assessments in Business Units and gives support and guidance in their implementation
- Provide guidance and support to the 8 regions within the organisation involving safety and environmental advice in supporting the objective of the company
- Assists in investigations all fatalities and major incidents that have occurred in the organisation and provide recommendations for prevention of further fatalities
- Assists in full Safety & Environment audits on all terminals in line with the company protocol
- Support all Business units in matters of improving safety and the environment
- Follows up on audit and fatality investigations to ensure recommendations are closed out
- providing the Business with support and tools required to implement the FRS and the global SMS
Requirements
- Must be a UAE National
- Educated to Degree level, ideally in Health and Safety, Environmental Sciences or related field
- Preferably NEBOSH qualification in safety
- Working experience of 2 years or less
- Understanding of OHSAS 18001 and other safety standards
