Our Private Client Services (PCS) professionals provide comprehensive domestic and cross-border tax services to high-net worth individuals, including corporate executives and business owners, as well as family offices and asset & wealth managers.

As a Private Client Services Assistant Manager, you will demonstrate an understanding of increasingly complex tax concepts and effectively apply your tax knowledge to client situations, developing and delivering innovative tax planning ideas with timely, responsive services and work products that meet and/or exceed client expectations. You will also thoroughly and accurately analyze information and prepare quality, practical and creative approaches tailored to a client's tax and economic situation, arriving at appropriate conclusions. The role includes meeting with existing and prospective clients and participating to business development initiatives.

Job purpose: To strengthen and contribute to the growth of the MENA Private Client Services team.

Client responsibilities
- Provide tax-related domestic and cross-border planning assistance to asset & wealth managers, family offices and HNWIs with a focus on MENA outbound investments (both conventional and Shari’a compliant).
- Assist clients needing a wide range of tax services, including tax compliance, tax planning and tax advice relating to their business interests, investments and other financial-related assets
- Serve as a trusted business advisor to HNWIs, asset & wealth managers and family offices in providing a wide array of professional tax services including advice on direct investments (e.g. real estate, private equity…), and wealth and succession planning.
- Work effectively as a member of a worldwide network of professional advisors, sharing responsibility, providing support, maintaining communication and updating senior team members on progress
- Work as part of a multi-jurisdictional/disciplinary team in terms of pursuing, managing and delivering engagements. As part of this there must be a drive to ensure that all deliverables meet the EY quality standard
- Build strong internal relationships with other members of the overall tax team and across other service lines
- Participate and assist in preparing for meetings with existing and prospective clients, and support business development initiatives
- Manage the preparation of reports and schedules that will be delivered to clients and other parties
- Develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel. Assist with the management of the global tax affairs of clients, keeping them abreast of tax developments and advise on how it might affect them.
- Ensure engagements comply with all aspects of internal risk management as well as managing the economics of all jobs

People responsibilities
- Help people to develop through the effective supervision, coaching and mentoring of staff
- Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback for staff
- Contribute to people initiatives, including recruiting, retaining and training Private Client Services professionals
- Maintain an educational program to develop your technical and personal skills
- Understand and follow workplace policies and procedures

Requirements

- A bachelor's degree with strong academic credentials – taxation, accounting, business, finance or a related field essential. MBA, Masters of Tax or LLM in Tax would be a plus as well as a professional certification (e.g. CPA, LPC…).
- A minimum of four years of relevant experience within International Tax Services and/or Private Client Services
- Big 4 or major law firm experience desirable
- Strong organizational, analytical and verbal/written communication skills

Additional skills requirements
- Excellent written and verbal English language skills.
- Relevant consulting experience within a mature market is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills and entrepreneurial attitude
- Professional appearance and ability to successfully interact with HNWIs and their advisors
- Well-developed analytical and research skills and an ability to draw conclusions from often equivocal or conflicting data
- Broad exposure to international taxation and HNWIs
- Strong managerial, organizational, project management, analytical and verbal/written communication skills
- Proficiency in Arabic would be a plus.
