Assistant Purchase Manager

Job description / Role

Objectives:
To enhance the profitability of the business by managing specific procurement teams and implementation of purchase
related business activities. To ensure that all materials and services are procured in accordance with specifications at the
most competitive price.

Reporting to: Manager - Contracts & Purchasing

Main responsibilities:
1. Coordinate, supervise and evaluate all purchasing activities of subordinates.
2. Ensure the implementation and adherence of purchase regulations, its rules and procedures for daily activities. Also
responsible for assisting Manager - Contracts & Purchasing for a smooth and efficient purchasing activities.
3. Build and maintain a strong business network with service contractors, suppliers and concerned entities.
4. Maintain sources of supply awareness by reviewing company supplier's performance, it's trade publications and
networking.
5. Collate purchase requisitions from the end users and to float the required PO's and RFP's (Request for Proposals) to the
suppliers and obtain quotations.
6. Ensure all materials and services are procured at competitive prices according to budget which is in accordance with the
required programme and in compliance with the mentioned specifications.
7. Evaluate the vendors / suppliers proposals and prepare a quotation comparison sheets. Also responsbile to organize
negotiation meetings with the qualified vendors / suppliers as needed.
8. Review and follow-up with suppliers on a daily basis for timely delivery of orders issued.
9. Ensures that all invoices are sent to Finance Department for payment and to monitor it's process till payment is given to
the vendors / suppliers.
10. Generate and prepare various reports, quotation comparison sheets, vendors / suppliers performance sheets and other required activities on weekly, monthly or yearly basis which will be provided to the line manager or department head.
11. To provide an ethical and consistent approach to the procurement of good and services as per company's requirement.
12. To do any additional tasks assigned by the line manager or department head.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree with relevant UAE/GCC experience. Graduates in business administration/business law or related discipline or MBA with a CIPS certification is preferred
- Minimum 10 years experience out of which 3-5 years experience as Assistant Purchase Manager/Senior Purchase Officer
with Real Estate/Property/Construction Industry.
- Knowledgeable and having a good understanding of purchasing management, methods, practices, concepts, principles, and
procedures.

1. Good knowledge and understanding in procurement procedures and regulations during the procurement process of
items and services.
2. Awareness in local, national and international markets and having competency skills.
3. Commercial Awareness of products being introduce in the market.
4. Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
5. Strong sense in budgeting, mathematical and IT Skills.
6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
7. Excellent negotiation skills.
8. Ability to manage conflicts and issues.
