Assistant Technician - Power Distribution (MV)

Job description / Role

Ability to perform safely and correctly the following on Medium Voltage (MV) equipment and systems:
• Electrical Isolations and LOTO
• Planned preventative maintenance (PM) routines
• Corrective maintenance (CM)

Breakdown maintenance (BD)to include:
• Ring Main Units
• Transformers
• MV switch gears
• VCB, SF6 Breakers, Protection relays
• Main Distribution Panels , Sub-Main Distribution Boards & DB’s
• LV Breakers and Protection systems
• Lighting Control Panels and circuits

Candidate should be able to perform maintenance of major assets below:
• Ring Main Units
• MV Transformers
• MV Switchgears
• MV Cable Networks

It would be important to have the below experiences:
• Ring Main Unit Functional tests, Replacement of Fuses, inspection, and maintenance of internal components.
• Earth Testing Programs
• Thermal image surveys

Can correctly setup and use electrical test equipment and interpret the test results to include
• Digital Multi meter
• Insulation Resistance Tester
• Earth Fault Loop Resistance Tester
• BDV test

Salary:
AED 2,300 to 3,200 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

Qualification:
• ITI certificate or above(Minimum 2 years trade certificate in Electrical)

Minimum Requirements:
• Minimum (3) year experience within power Distribution related environment or similar
• This position requires minimum level of spoken and written English.
• Ability to communicate with staff, stakeholders, and customers in oral and written English.
