Associate Director, Employer & Alumni Relations - Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.

New York Institute of Technology seeks an Associate Director for Employer and Alumni Relations to join its Abu Dhabi Campus. The Associate Director will have equal emphasis on both Alumni engagement and development, and current student services. Position will identify job and internship opportunities for NYIT students and provide training workshops on skills required to obtain positions in government and private companies.

Other duties and responsibilities include:
- Compiling a database of relevant personnel in private and public companies in the United Arab Emirates;
- Provide direct support to all students to help prepare them for the labor market through formal classroom training, workshops, on and off-site activities and networking events;
- Oversee the Abu Dhabi Campus internship and practicum planning and implementation;
- Establish and maintain partnerships with local employers, industries and volunteer organizations;
- Develop a pool of NYIT Abu Dhabi business and industry partners to serve the current number of students, 30-50 new partnerships need to be established and these relationships maintained;
- Develop and implement activities and resources for students regarding careers and local employment opportunities;
- Develop and maintain local and national alumni relations and engagement strategies;
- Build mutually beneficial relationships with the Human Resource department of the identified companies;
- Conduct surveys to identify employers' workforce needs;
- Review and critique resumes submitted through CSO (NYIT Career Net) on line employment database;
- Collaborate with all members of the Career Services staff in the USA to integrate labor market, employer and recruitment information into students, career management activities, including but not limited to, the internship search process and the internship work experience itself in the Middle East. Compile student and alumni data to establish their employment requirements and update on an annual basis;
- Advise students on their compatibility to specific jobs by comparing students' skills and qualifications with job requirements;
- Develop and implement a student orientation program to inform all NYIT students about the role of the Career Services and Alumni Relations Office;
- Develop and implement workshops on job search strategies, targeting employer prospects, writing a curriculum vitae, resume and cover letters;
- Offer student workshops on interview techniques (mock and formal) and how to utilize the NYIT Career Services website and the power of the NYIT worldwide network;
- Offer a one-to-one service for students preparing for the job search and interviewing;
- Keep all documentation secured with limited access;
- Ensure confidentiality and security of all student and alumni records;
- Utilize the personal contact information in the public and private companies to support the students and alumni.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree required and Master's degree in Business, Education or Higher Education preferred. Relevant administrative experience is required for this position. Experience in career services, alumni affairs, relationship management, marketing/communications preferred.

The ideal candidate must be willing to travel internationally and to local events and establishments, work evenings and weekends, as required. Must have knowledge of Microsoft suites. Experience in student information systems (ie., Peoplesoft, Datatel) a plus. Ability to speak and understand Arabic language required.
