Associate Manager (Business Applications) – SAP Sales & Distribution

Job description / Role

- To lead and manage the planning, development and effective implementation of the business solutions for the EGA Marketing & Sales business area in order to support the strategic alignment and efficiency of business processes within the same.
- Supports the implementation of functional policies, systems, processes, procedures and controls covering one or more ERP function that covers the Marketing & Sales business area so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service in a consistent manner
- Supervises the day-to-day operations of business solutions within the Marketing & Sales business area to ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and comply with established policies, processes and procedures
- Develops and seeks approval for the annual Business Applications implementation for the Marketing & Sales business area ensuring alignment with approved EGA business requirements/ IT strategy while leading the implementation of the same within the agreed timelines & Budgets
- Where applicable, participates in the selection of vendors / third party service providers for business applications to meet the IT needs of EGA ensuring adherence to the corporate IT strategy, policies and procedures
- Assists the superior in the initial review, evaluation, and provides recommendations in order to support accurate identification / acquisition of appropriate systems to suit the Marketing & Sales business area requirements
- Manages vendor/ external consultants to ensure accurate identification of EGA business requirements and customizes application modules in the Marketing & Sales business area to ensure efficient and effective system support for the business processes
- Works in conjunction with Enterprise Technology support to deliver any technical development solutions required to cover the Marketing & Sales business needs
- Manages the delivery of the Business Applications based on the agreed business units Roadmap/deliverables to gain an understanding of emerging business requirements and together with service providers, proactively recommends and implements suitable applications, upgrades to facilitate achievement of system efficiency in solving process requirements
- Ensures optimal delivery of integration and development of cross-functional and multi-platform applications systems by working closely with Enterprise Architecture Team
- Ensures effective coordination and communication with the relevant internal and external entities (such as the Marketing & Sales business area, relevant vendors, suppliers, service providers) with highest standards of business ethics, in-order to ensure the services required by EGA Marketing & Sales are delivered in the most effective manner
- Supervises the activities and work of subordinates by providing formal and informal feedback to ensure that all work within the team is carried out in an efficient manner and in accordance with set individual targets

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent.
- A professional qualification in Project Management is preferable
- 4-6 years’ experience in IT and SAP Solutions implementation, preferably with a large manufacturing organization;
- In depth SAP knowledge and experience within Sales & Distribution (SD) and Logistics Execution (LE) modules; relevant knowledge and experience of integration with other SAP logistics and financial modules
- Previous industry experience in Marketing & Sales and Logistics Execution a plus
- Experience in managing IT vendors
- Knowledge in Enterprise Applications and the supported business processes and Programming Languages
- In-depth knowledge of the aluminium manufacturing sector
- Full understanding of software development life cycle.
