Banking & Finance Lawyer NQ - 2PQE (Dubai)

My client, an international law firm, is looking for a banking and finance lawyer with up to 2 years PQE to join their Banking & Finance team as an Associate.

The UAE Banking & Finance team is part of the global Finance team, working closely with other offices in acting for financiers and borrowers in relation to major financing transactions. The team is particularly strong in acting for corporates raising debt finance, project finance, leveraged finance, asset based lending, trade finance and real estate finance.

The role will involve primarily transactional work in a range of areas covering corporate finance, trade finance, Islamic finance and project finance, particularly in the clean energy sector. Candidates will demonstrate the ability to play a pivotal role in a finance transaction.

The role will cover the full remit of banking work including all aspects of client generation, client work and relationship management and business development. You will have the opportunity to leverage off the firm's unique selling points so far as the MENAP market is concerned, including specialist sector expertise, international capability and a highly developed project management approach.

This will involve opportunities in the local market, but also in respect of wider international initiatives.

Skills and experience

As an integral part of the UAE Banking & Finance team you will provide support on a wide variety of transactions. You will also be required to get involved in marketing activities.

You will possess strong technical skills and excellent academic qualifications. In addition you will be able to demonstrate a exceptional organisation skills as well as your high attention to detail. You will provide a first rate client service both internally and externally.

Requirements

Please only apply if you meet ALL of the following criteria:
- Common law qualified and admitted
- Excellent academics (2:1 honours or higher)
- Have experience working as a banking and finance lawyer at a magic circle or silver circle firm (if you are NQ, a rotation/placement as part of your training contract will suffice)
