Job description / Role

Employment: Temporary

We are looking for an outstanding part-time paralegal to join the EMEA legal team at the world’s largest shared electric vehicle company.

For this new and exciting position you will support the Middle East legal counsel on a wide spectrum of legal topics such as administrative and public law issues, commercial contracts and corporate governance.

• You will also support the wider EMEA legal team on an ad hoc basis on a whole range of legal issues.
• You will have a law degree or be close to completion and you must be fluent in both English and Arabic.
• You will have a pragmatic, solution focused attitude and enjoy working in an informal, startup-style, structure.
• You will be the right hand of the Middle East legal counsel and the main point of contact for supporting the day-to-day legal queries relating to operations in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha
• You will work on a full range of legal topics concerning the Middle East markets, including regulatory compliance, litigation and personal injury law, commercial law, consumer law, administrative and public law, and employment law
• You will liaise and manage relationships with a range of external stakeholders, including local outside counsel, staffing agencies, service providers and regulators
• You will carry out administrative duties, including updating key license and permit renewals and attendance at various regulatory agencies as required
• You will be willing to improve internal processes and draft or update Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) guidelines
• You will support the broader EMEA legal team on a wide range of legal issues, including conducting legal research on topics such as consumer and employment law updates.
• You will support the Governance and Compliance team with completing administrative requests from external stakeholders globally, including KYC/UBO requests, ESR compliance and legal research

Requirements

About You:
• Hold a law degree, or be close to completion
• Fluent in written and spoken Arabic and English
• Based in Dubai and willing to travel throughout the Middle East region on an occasional basis
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work well under pressure with diligence, organisation, and provide practical, business-friendly advice to stakeholders;
• Strong analytical and strategic skills; ability to drive issues to a quick resolution; high degree of professional ethics and integrity; ability to anticipate legal issues or risks and to build the processes and systems to prevent them from occurring;
• Previous legal or corporate work experience (particularly international experience) is preferred.
