The Business Intelligence Analyst will be required to derive insights from data using a variety of tools and methodologies. These will include both 'traditional' Business Intelligence and Advanced Analytics approaches.

You will work closely with business stakeholders and IT colleagues to understand opportunities where the application of data analysis, reporting, visualisation, data mining and predictive analytics will drive business benefits.

The Business Intelligence Analyst will work with data sets from across multiple online and offline retail businesses and distribution operations. Responsibilities will include data integration & cleansing, data warehousing, data exploration, BI reporting, and building analytical and machine learning models.

In this role, you should have a background in Business Intelligence, data analysis and statistical analysis. You should be an analytical thinker and an excellent communicator. If you also have business acumen, good communications skills, and are a self-starter then we would like to meet you.

Ultimately, you will build, deploy and enhance analytics capabilities to help us make better decisions

What you'll be doing:

- Translate business needs to technical specifications
- Conduct exploratory data analysis
- Liaise with business stakeholders to define analytics use cases
- Create reports and dashboards with Power BI
- Create Data Warehouses and Data Marts to enable BI and Analytics
- Exploratory Data Analysis with Power BI, Python or R
- Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems
- Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis
- Doing ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner
- Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses
- Develop and update technical documentation
- Implement Machine Learning Models

Requirements

What you need to succeed in this role:

- Undergraduate degree in the following disciplines Computing, Engineering or Mathematics
- Strong technical background, with understanding or digital technologies, business processes.
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills

Essential technologies:

- Data manipulation with SQL
- Stored procedures, triggers, views etc.
- Data Warehouse & Mart design
- Implementations of ETL pipelines (SSIS or similar)
- Power BI, DAX, SSAS Tabular
- Data visualization, reporting & dashboarding
- Data explorations and analysis
- Data Science methods & process
- Understanding of SDLC, Source Control, IT Project management

Desirable:

- Training and scoring of machine learning model
- R/Python/Scala
- VB.net/C#.net/Java application programming
- SSAS Multidimensional + MDX
- Understanding of Big Data concepts
- Hive QL/Spark SQL
- Understanding of Cloud Data Architecture

Previous:

- Minimum of 4+ years BI Analyst Developer / Data Science role
- Retail/Customer Data/CRM
- Experience in Data Science and Machine Learning
