Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The purpose of this role is to manage, analyze and provide consultative recommendations in all areas of Dealer financial reporting and profitability performance. Including but not limited to the following:

Fixed operations reports, monthly profitability tracker, annual targets of dealer’s profitability on individual and regional basis. Monitor DOR submissions. Evaluate KPI’s from a financial prospective.

Participate and provide input to the ADBP process from a regional and dealer prospective. Manage the RND Budget and Critical Care Process.

Key Responsibilities:

DOR (Dealer Operating Reports )
- Monitor DOR submissions on a monthly basis and provide submission dates for Grandmasters and DEP programs. Follow up with Dealers and Field Team to insure timely submission of DOR’s. Prepare composites based on data submitted by dealers. Analyze DOR’s for consistency and accuracy of data submitted and follow-up regularly with all dealers regarding data reporting and rationales for reported numbers.

Analysis Reports
- Utilize DBI to generate various monthly analysis reports such as the dealer profitability tracker, GP margin tracker, and Dealer Monthly Analysis Pack (DMAP) for GM MEO senior management to track dealer financial performance across the year. Individual dealer information is shared with Regional Managers in sales and CCA to identify areas of concern.
- Action plans will be prepared as required for each dealer and shared with the dealer and relevant regional sales manager. The purpose of these action plans is to improve the dealers operations and profitability.

Dealer DBI Clinics (requires 10% travel)
- Conduct at least one onsite DBI clinic meeting with each dealer in the MEO network annually to review dealership operations performance through KPIs and analysis pulled from DBI and identify/discuss areas of gaps and opportunities with the dealer principals and their operations directors. Work closely with relevant stakeholders in the field team prior to clinic to prepare talking points appropriately and after the meeting to put specific action plans in place. This activity will require travel to dealer locations.

Business Development Groups
- Organize 2-3 business development group meetings per year to gather MEO dealers for benchmarking and best practice sharing on various topics related to dealership operations. Responsible for full content creation and working closely with meeting presenter to develop the agenda for the day.

Dealer Business Intelligence (DBI) System Management
- Manage and coordinate all aspects of the DBI system as implemented and available via GlobalConnect. The person will be the corporate administrator of the system and as such will be responsible for defining benchmarks and regional composite groupings and providing appropriate systems support to dealer partner teams that utilize the system to submit monthly financial reports. Work closely with the ChannelVantage team in Detroit (vendors of DBI) for system updates and troubleshoot outages and errors faced by dealers in reporting. Monitor appropriate access and rights to DBI and enhance the systems with new capabilities and modules as required.

Annual Dealer Business Plan (ADBP/ADPE)
- Track the submission of ADBPs by dealers at the beginning of the year and assessing the financial forecasts submitted as part of the ADBPs. The manager then provides feedback to the relevant field sales team. The field team then discusses the feedback with the dealers as necessary.

Critical Care
- Tracking the Critical Care status of dealers on a monthly basis against the established Critical Care categories. The Manager is responsible for providing an internal report to GM MEO management on dealer’s critical care status and also prepares Critical care letters for dealers as decided by GM MEO management

BAC Creation & Management
- Generation of new BACs or the management of existing BACs. The relevant network development manager provides the new BAC form filled out to the Business Management Manager who then works with GMDID team within NA IPC to request the creation of the new BAC code

Training
- Provide GM Accounting training and support to field teams and dealers. Also coach MEO field teams on dealership financial analysis

Communication
- Make sure all teams are copied on programs and projects that impact their positions.
- Provide financial reports to all stakeholders on a timely basis
- Create and send a quarterly letter to all dealers that provides a financial overview of their performance - Provide monthly KPI’s to the FSG Team to support the preparation of the Month End Pack

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum 3 years of automotive experience

Knowledge and Experience:
- The job requires understanding of general accounting rules and principals and corporate finance concepts.
- Knowledge of GM Dealer Operating Report (DOR) and of automotive operations would be beneficial
- Field with knowledge of dealer operations.
- Understanding of the automotive business with focus on service, planning and Corporate Identity.
- Understanding of the Middle East market.
- DOR information is required to be submitted directly into DBI (web-based, financial reporting tool accessible to all dealers via GM Global Connect
