Charterhouse is working with one of our leading public sector clients, who is looking to appoint a Business Relations/Policy Advisor, who will manage and service its business community, in addition to driving new policy initiatives which align with their strategic vision.

As Business Relations/Policy Advisor, you will forge strong relationships with contacts across government entities, business groups and councils to understand their regional plans and challenges faced. You will act as a voice for the business community to communicate feedback and in turn will proactively identify opportunities and any gaps in policy to form new initiatives.

This role will be heavily geared towards conducting research on local and global economic developments, emerging trends and forward-thinking solutions which address market challenges and boost economic growth. There will be close collaboration with the Legal and Policy Advocacy teams to develop new policies and initiatives which meet the long-term vision of the organisation and its business community.

In addition, you will be involved in the planning and facilitation of all events and forums, including the production of the agenda and key discussion topics. Our client is looking for someone who has a holistic view of the global economic landscape and its impact on the region from a trade and development perspective.

This role will combine a range of skills including research, client relationship building, policy development and project management, therefore excellent interpersonal and organisation skills are fundamental.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have a Bachelor’s Degree ideally in Business or International Relations, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position ideally with a focus on policy advocacy, economic research or consultancy.

Our client has a strong preference for candidates who have international exposure and previous experience in developing a broad range of new initiatives, working with a think tank or management consultancy ideally.
