Business Unit Controller

Job description / Role

Charterhouse are currently representing an organisation, within the logistics and distribution sector, whom are in the process of looking to recruit a Business Unit Controller (BUC).

This Controller shall manage and oversee all aspects of financial controllership, along with the implementation and development of financial planning and analysis (FP&A) functions, across their range of business entities within their UAE operation. This role shall be heavily geared towards the oversight and gearing reporting and systems capabilities towards the oversight of budget reviews, variance reporting and the oversight of KPI monitoring across the businesses.

In conjunction, the BUC shall also have oversight of the statutory accounts, which in turn are used to develop FP&A tools along with the review of policies and procedures to enhance commercial activity, budget awareness and financial results.

Requirements

The client will look to recruit an accredited finance professional from either a Chartered Accountancy and/or MBA-type background. Applicants must be exposed to either complex group organisations or businesses that are geared towards project lines and/or service-based operations. The ability to extract, use and report around financial data shall be a critical aspect; and the client will look towards candidates whom can demonstrate strong and advanced Excel capabilities (including macros, pivot tables and areas of financial modelling).

In addition, all applicants shall be assessed around the need for excellent communication and reporting skills; to manage senior and commercially centric reporting lines and stakeholders.
