Business Unit Head

Job description / Role

Our client is one of the leading retailers operating in the Middle East and they boast some of the most popular home grown fashion and lifestyle brands in the region. They are looking for an experienced Retail Business Head to manage one of their top performing concepts.

The role includes a number of responsibilities, not limited to the following,
- Maximise the sales and profitability of brands through commercial business development.
- Implement and maintain professional retail standards
- Provide effective leadership to the International Division
- Assist brand managers with the analysis of strengths and weaknesses in store
- Utilise the financial P&L reports and provide corrective action plans
- Ensure sales targets are exceeding projections
- Design and implement store strategies to optimise space
- Finalise the operating budget with senior management
- Analyse business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, obligations to project future revenue and expenses
- Identify store training and development needs alongside HR
- Formulate a training and development plan for employees
- Be involved in the selection and recruitment of operational staff when required
- Support the marketing teams in building and enhancing the concept and the brands image
- Formulate and execute a store opening plan and sales budget for the franchise business
- Lead the franchise sales team

Requirements

- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in retail managing brands and franchises
- Experience in a similar role within the GCC
- MUST HAVE experience in managing multiple International Brands
- Excellent communication skills
- Very strong time management skills
- Proven business acumen
- Strong analytical skills
- Relationship Management
- Influencing and negotiation skills
- Very strong leadership and team building skills
