Job description / Role
The role of the Cafeteria/Food Safety Manager is to manage the overall operations of the school cafeteria in accordance with UAE statutory standards (ADFCA, HAAD, ADEC etc.).
Such operations include; monitoring the quality of catering & food service activities, liaising with the catering company & suppliers, overseeing & assisting cafeteria employees in the daily running of the cafeteria, monitoring daily accounts and expenditures, evaluating new products & menus in accordance with nutritional requirements, and ensuring a safe, clean & sanitary work environment in compliance with standard practices.
Requirements
- Degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Food Safety or related is essential;
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing a busy cafeteria/F&B environment (school environment is preferable);
- ADFCA Certified;
- Be fully aware of all ADFCA/HAAD rules, regulations and safety standards;
- Knowledge of established nutritional and health requirements– ability to source catering and establish menus in accordance with these requirements;
- Knowledge of ADEC EHS policies would be advantageous;
- Working knowledge of HACCP management systems;
- Fluent in English – Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills;
- Demonstrated skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, and the public;
- Ability to work effectively within an ethnic, cultural and socially diverse student population;
- Excellent organizational skills: ability to set priorities and achieve them;
- Must be friendly, approachable, personable and professional at all times;
