Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Within a specified geographical region:
- To engage Global students in one-to-one and group career thinking, workshops and events
- To increase local alumni engagement, affinity and fundraising
- To contribute to marketing, events and special projects
- To contribute to the overall success of the Middle East centre as an active member of the business team

Post Graduate Careers Service

Main duties
- Provide face-to-face, telephone and email careers advice and coaching across all popular MBA destination sectors and disciplines
- Conduct group coaching sessions to deliver key career management skills
- Promote the Post Graduate Careers Service locally and in harmony with the overall Global Careers Service marketing plan
- Maintain excellent communications with International Centre staff and with the university's careers staff
- Collate and report on user statistics, feedback and recommendations
- Work with the Centre Director to assist with the delivery of careers events
- Coordinate speakers and recruiters alongside Centre Director and act as point of contact
- Travel to attend events, exhibitions and related meetings and trainings within the Middle East region and overseas.

Alumni Relations
- Be the point contact for the local alumni committees, students and local Directors building strong relationships to ensure partnership at all levels.
- Work closely with the central Alumni Office and act as a conduit across the two offices.
- Be responsible for the local event activities related to alumni relations, including the student engagement agenda.
- Be responsible for data integrity working closely with the central Alumni Office to continually update and improve alumni records.
- Manage local committee elections and the setting up of new alumni groups/chapters.

Other external activity (roughly 20%)
- Contribute to marketing initiatives to support the University's overall as led by the centre director
- Support special projects for the Director's office.
- Carry out background research and coordination to assist fundraising activity in the region

Requirements

- Have a degree level and a minimum of three years relevant experience in career coaching and advising in higher education.
- Knowledge and understanding of higher education support processes in the MENA region.
- Previous experience of working with multiple demands in a team environment.
- Experience of delivering excellent customer service/support with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Confident, professional, flexible attitude and approach to work.
- Ability to deal tactfully and sensitively with confidential information, and awareness of implications of the Data Protection Act.
- Undertake any other duty in line with the grade and responsibility of this post as may be determined by the Centre Director
- Support special projects for the Middle East Centre
- Self-motivated with a positive ‘can do’ attitude, managing own workload.
- Comprehensive IT skills including advanced PowerPoint and Excel.
- Have Persuasive communication and presentation skills, willing to travel and be flexible to work overtime. (Some evening and weekend working will be required from time to time)
