Job description / Role
A leading construction company is currently looking to hire a Procurement Category Manager - Indirect Materials.
The successful candidate will strive to deliver a total cost of ownership approach, taking into account cost, quality and delivery; assessing all options available in local/regional/international markets by benchmarking prices and following best practises.
Reporting directly to Procurement Head - Indirects, this jobs is based in Dubai.
- Analyse supplier landscape to form a preferred supplier list
- Formalize category procurement and inventory management
- Develop category demand forecast with thorough spend analysis
- Conduct supplier contract negotiations and sign agreements (frame agreements, long term agreements, annual agreements)
- Conduct supplier assessments/ audits
- Relationship management, regular meetings with key suppliers
- Manage and approve category orders
- Approve category LPO's
- Utilise cross functional teams (operations/technical) to obtain and revise procurement needs for the category
- Early involvement in demand planning
- Monthly meetings with key internal stakeholders
- Communicate category strategy to key stakeholders and get buy in
- Prepare monthly savings and spend reporting for own category
- Supervise LPO creators/buyers on own category
- Achieve targeted savings based on controlling guideline
- Use advanced procurement negotiation tools to achieve/exceed results (e-auctions, global value sourcing, advanced negotiation concepts)
- Ensure best payment and delivery terms
- Specification change/design to cost
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related field. Master’s Degree Preferred
- Procurement related accreditations / qualifications from recognised institutions preferred e.g. CIPS
- Min 5 years of experience in similar position at an international company
- Proven track record of achievements in Category Management in indirect spend categories, preferably in Professional services
