Job description / Role
Our client is an innovative catering and restaurant business providing healthy fast food and nutritious meals to children. Based in Sharjah, they provide catering services across the UAE to schools; nurseries and other children focused organizations. They are currently looking to recruit a Catering Manager who can run the kitchen team and ensure that all standards are consistently delivered for catering contracts.
The Catering Manager will be responsible for:
• Managing the kitchen team
• Ensuring that team members are managed to deliver performance
• Establishing and implementing training programme for all team members.
• Controlling food costs
• Planning and approving schedules for the kitchen team ensuring coverage across all meal periods
• Ensuring that menus and recipes are developed and in place to serve all catering contracts
• Ensuring that processes and systems are in place to maintain standards of food hygiene, health and safety at all times
• Ensuring that the all systems of software, control and financial management are in place to record, monitor and analyze performance
• Monitoring preparation and cooking of all meals to agreed standards
• Sourcing the best quality, best value produce
Salary:
AED
15,000 to 25,000
per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
Requirements
Experience:
• 7+ years experience in the industry plus catering experience of at least 5 years
• 5 years experience of managing a kitchen team
Qualifications:
• Preferably catering or food related qualification from a recognized college or university
• HACCP certification
• Additional industry accreditation from professional training courses attended
Job specific Knowledge and Skills:
• Expert technical cooking skills and theoretical knowledge of cooking styles
• Advanced knowledge of global cuisines
• Quantified experience in food safety and hygiene
• Competent in word, excel and other software packages
• Highly competent oral and written skills
• Sound knowledge of stock control and financial budgets
