Employment: Full Time

A local group of company is now looking for a Chief Accountant to join their growing team in Abu Dhabi.

Purpose: To manage teams and departments as they relate to the service of the financial reporting and transactional accounting. Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports for multiple affiliates. Accomplishes tasks with particular emphasis on customer service and seeks to add value for the company.

Main Responsibilities:
- Provide analysis and advice to the Group Finance Manager on the potential implication of propose changes in accounting rules/policies and legislation/government rules.
- Assist the Group Finance Manager with all statutory reporting.
- Under the supervision of the Group Finance Manager manage the production of the Annual Report and Accounts and the associated supporting evidence and reconciliations.
- Working with the Group Finance Manager and others to ensure that the organization receives a clean audit report.
- Work with Directors and HOD across the whole organization to ensure risks associated with the production of the annual report and accounts are identified and managed accordingly.
- Prepare statutory based set of management accounts, including balance sheet, on a monthly basis, using this information to assist the Group Finance Manager with the production of the monthly management accounts
- Assist, as required, the Group Finance Manager with management of the transaction processing teams.
- Continuous management and support of budget and forecast activities.
- Develop and maintain financial databases.
- Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures.
- Responsible for ensuring the integrity of the data held within the finance systems and the security of the related data entry processes
- Through preparation / review of balance sheet / control accounts reconciliations, ensure the balances reported in the financial statements are complete and precise
- Mange the fixed assets register of the organization.
- Ensuring that any internal or external audit management letter points relevant to the Financial Accounting function are cleared on a timely and appropriate basis.
- Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
- Ensure that key financial processes are properly documented and updated.

Requirements

- Graduate level with a degree in Accounting / Finance or any related field.
- Must be Chartered Accountant/Certified Accountant with ACCA qualification.
- Degree in MBA is a preference.
- Minimum 5 years working experience in Finance / Accounting field and with not less than 3 years’ experience as Chief Accountant.
- Excellent English Communication Skills - Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external contacts at all levels.
- Arabic speaker preferred but not essential
- Ability to work to deadlines and within defined standards.
- Ability to deal sensitively and appropriately with confidential information.
- Professional Skills and Knowledge in office software including Excel, Word etc.
