Chief Accountant - Farming and Agriculture

Responsibilities:
• Supervise and overall control on the accounting department, junior employees, and accounting assistants of his/her sector.
• Monitor the day-to-day financial operations and accounting transactions, monthly, quarterly and year end closings.
• Prepare the monthly package of financial reports which includes, but not limited to, balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flow, variance report between actual and budgeted figures as well as statement of comprehensive income.
• Coordinate with the accountant Department of Group’s subsidiaries, in order to reconcile all intercompany transactions/balance and preparing the consolidated financial statements.
• Monitor and management of invoices and daily transactions by outlets
• Check and verify any discount or complimentary checks given by the operations;
• Check and verify all transactions done by the operations and make sure they are consolidated daily;
• Coordinate with Purchase Officer to review all purchases requirements, documentations, etc.;
• Engaged and coordinate with outside services provider for preparation periodic tax declaration and other tax requirements.
• Supervise the Accountants to perform month-end accounting such as reconciliations and journal entries within deadlines.
• Provide guidance to other Accountants when needed.
• Supervise and assist the accountants in implementation of new ERP and other required systems.
• Assist Group Finance Manager in implementation of Internal Control Policies, Guidelines and, Procedures.
• Coordinate with Budget & Reporting Officer for preparation of monthly financial statements, financial position as well as monthly comparison, actual versus budgeted figures.
• Assist Budget & Reporting Officer in preparation the annual budget and implement it in the ERP and monitor the expense management activities.
• Evaluate accounting systems and provide recommendation to IT team for performance improvements.
• Review and recommend changes to existing accounting procedures.
• Receiving and records requests for disbursements, authorizes disbursements in accordance with policies and authority matrix.
• Assist in auditing activities by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentations.
• Respond to accounting inquires from management in a timely fashion.
• Liaise with external and internal auditors of the group and assist in performing the audit function.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• 5+ years of experience in a similar position incl. 2 years in Farming and Agriculture sector
• ERP, MS Office, Accounting, IFRS 41 Biological Assets Stock control and valuation
