Chief Accountant - Retail

Exciting newly created position within an expanding retail group with diversified business representing leading international fashion brands operations throughout the lower Gulf. Excellent opportunity to play a lead role in the finance team.

Job Description:
• Reporting to the CFO you will play a lead role in assisting in the management of the finance team based in Dubai
• Manage the day to day operations of the finance department
• Preparation of daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports to management
• Lead the budgeted process for the organization.
• Analysis of company performance to budgeted with explanations provided for variances
• Oversea and manage the accounts receivables and payables
• Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities
• Lead the team and liaise with both internal and external audits, ensuring that audits are completed timeously and efficiently
• Ensuring that proper policies and procedures are implemented and updated for the Finance Department
• Providing relevant financial information to various departments
• Lead the team for the calculation and preparation of all related tax requirements
• Manage the process for cash flow analysis and review
• Manage the process for the daily collection of cash takings from stores

Requirements

• MUST BE A Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with a minimum of 5 years post qualified experience from a recognised Tertiary Institution
• Retail / Trade Finance related experience is essential
• Must have some experience in leading a small team of finance professionals
• Strong understanding of the retail sector in the Middle East region
• Ideally coming from a Big 4 background
• Hands on experience with ERP ideally Microsoft Navision
• Ability to work in a multicultural team environment
• Must have excellent communication skills in English & Arabic
