Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

• Chief Security Officer (CSO) is responsible for assessing risks and threats to the organization and developing an overall security strategy to mitigate these risks. Whether the focus is on preventing compromises of corporate data, securing an oil shipment cargo, or ensuring there is a business continuity plan in case of a serious incident, the CSO must ensure that there are policies and procedures in place to handle these situations.
• This can include working with internal teams such as Information Technology, Human Resources or Supply Chain departments or external organizations such as law enforcement, insurance companies and banks.
• The CSO must also work closely with auditors from various stakeholders such as shareholders, customers, and regulators such as local authorities or national securities associations overseas to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
• The Chief Security Officer must be able to think strategically about how best to keep the organization safe while also balancing this with its other business needs.

Executive Security Operations:
• Responsible for the provision of close protection and other security-related functions for the Vici Energy’s executives during domestic and/or international assignments.
• Perform protective advance planning and threat vulnerability assessments when required.
• Risk Management: Keeps abreast of developing security threats and mitigates risk exposure.
• Identifies and anticipates a wide range of security-related incidents with potential to adversely affect the security and safety of personnel, operations, or reputation of the organization.
• Develops appropriate preventative strategies consistent with sound business judgment and internal controls
• Emergency and Disaster Management and Recovery:

Security Driven Inquiries:
• Partners with the appropriate body conducting post-incident inquiries, to assist in the review processes, root case analysis, and resolution.
• Direct manage and oversee security-based enquiries where appropriate (e.g., suspected criminal activity, vendor due diligence and so forth).
• Drives process changes and training to prevent repeat occurrences working closely with leaders in departments such as Legal, Human Resources, and Quality Health Safety and Environment
• Cybersecurity: Partners closely with the Director Information Technology to develop and manage the enterprise IT security strategy as it relates to cyberthreats and protecting data privacy in accordance with the law and best practices.
• Partners with IT leadership to procure and implement new and evolving security solutions to ensure protection, governance, and privacy of technology infrastructure, system access and data.
• Advisory relationship to IT to ensure strong cybersecurity processes, protocols, and risk assessment measures to improve the organization security posture as needed.
• Intelligence and Counter-Intelligence – In today’s global business environment, competitive intelligence is a vital tool that can provide a competitive advantage

Requirements

• Intelligent, articulate, and effective executive leader who can operate in a diverse, collaborative, and highly matrixed organization.
• Effectively develops and maintains strong community and government partnerships.
• Minimum 10 years of experience leading functions including but not limited to security and safety of people, threat assessment, risk mitigation, physical security, privacy and security of information, facility operations, disaster recovery, business planning and continuity, corporate investigations, and/or related disciplines.
• Bachelor s Degree preferred.
• Post graduate degree(s) and/or security certifications preferred.
• Prior law enforcement or private security experience strongly preferred.
• Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making to achieve security goals and objectives.
• Maintains confidentiality and operates at the highest standards of ethics, integrity, and compliance.
• Appropriate and comprehensive experience in organizational change management supporting large-scale process and projects.
• Proven time management and decision-making skills, with expert analytical and organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously with competing timeline effectively.
• Experience leading and influencing in large, complex, fast-paced, and dynamic environments managing technology and process change efforts, people management, risk management, across various departments and service lines to meet goals and deadlines.
• Strong planning, communication, and organization skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills, including the ability to handle public relations and media inquiries.
• Leadership facilitation experience to drive senior-level alignment for change.
• Extensive functional and industry knowledge of and experience with safety, security, crisis management to ensure best practices are implemented and executed.
• Experience reflecting leading an environment where engagement of security staff is key to driving trust, collaborative escalation, problem solving and the shared responsibility of safety together.
• Ability to successfully testify in civil and criminal courts
