Key purpose
The purpose of this position is to supervise and lead a team of Civil Maintenance Cleaning & Grounds Technicians to provide effective maintenance cleaning and landscaping services for Dubai Metro.
Reason for role
Manage and supervise teams in order to ensure that they meet the scheduled targets within the standards.
Structure and reporting relationship
This position directly reports to the Civil Engineer (MCG)
Job carrying a higher level of supervisory responsibility for staff. This includes motivation and training/capability or staff, quality of work, utilization of staff, and achievement of work targets/schedules/objectives
Based on the specific requirement of the role
Key accountabilities
- lead and give guidance to a team of Civil Technicians (Maintenance Cleaning & Grounds) to carry out all aspects of landscape services. Key activities include tree pruning, lawn care, hedge trimming, application of fertilizer and agriculture goods, earth grading and drainage and sprinkler system maintenance in addition to managing landscape waste
- follow the appropriate procedures and work instructions of landscaping to ensure compliance with the requirements
- assist subordinates with the job familiarization and to provide training and assessment where required
- maintain accurate maintenance records of landscapes, landscape condition reports, work accomplished and other information
- ensure maintenance tools and equipment are in good condition
- assist the Civil Engineer (Maintenance Cleaning & Grounds) or other technical support staff to implement new projects
- perform line side activities, Pest Control and Platform Screen Door cleaning
- conduct performance review for Civil Technicians (Maintenance Cleaning & Ground)
- maintain accurate maintenance records of landscapes, landscape condition reports, work accomplished and other information
- perform shift and emergency duties when required
- perform and carry out duties as instructed/ directed by the Civil Engineer (Maintenance Cleaning & Grounds)
SAE Responsibilities and Information Security Responsibilities
- awareness of the Integrated Management System and the content of the Safety, Assurance & Environment and Information Security Policy Statements
- understand the personal responsibilities and contribution of their staff (including subcontractors) in achieving compliance with the Integrated Management System, Competence Management System requirements, control measures and legal requirements
- ensure any environmental impacts, job safety analysis, information security risk assessments and competence assessments within their area of responsibility are embedded in the management systems, and communicated to those affected with a complete understanding of the potential consequences of departure from the arrangements in place
- exercise a personal duty of care for their own health, safety and welfare including those affected by the acts or omissions and promote the same within their area of responsibility
- use safety equipment (including PPE) as required and ensure that this is also enforced within their departments amongst subcontractors and third parties working in Serco's controlled premises/systems
- ensure that a good SAE and Information Security culture is promoted within their departments amongst their peers, subcontractors and third parties
- lead by example ensuring ways to conserve energy, water and resources that minimize the generation of waste within their area of responsibility
- protect information assets and data including both electronic and paper based from all threats whether internal, external, deliberate or accidental
- promote a good SAE and Information Security culture amongst their peers, subcontractors and third parties
- conduct regular reviews on the SAE and Information Security Performance within their departments for continuous improvements
- carry out regular health and safety tours and inspections at various locations

Requirements
Essential technical and professional skills, knowledge and qualifications ?
Knowledge
- Vocational trade certificate or diploma in landscape architecture discipline or equivalent
Skills
- ability to compile technical reports, routine business correspondence, prepare method statements and drawings as required
- possess good communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work productively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- experience in operating mobile boom, scaffolding and etc.
- strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and the ability to handle multiple priorities
- holder of a valid driving license with a good driving skill and experience
Experience
- minimum 2 years of relevant working experience in the maintenance of landscape, such as tree pruning, lawn care, hedge trimming, application of fertilizer and agriculture goods, landscape and environmental impact assessment, earth grading and drainage and sprinkler system maintenance is preferable
- preferably with 1 year of supervisory experience in supervising a team of gardeners in landscape maintenance and repairs
- thorough understanding of the use, calibration and care of various gardener and landscaping equipment and ability to interpret instructions in a variety of written, verbal, pictorial forms in order to carry out the maintenance activities as required
