Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Looking forward to hire Clinical Educator who will be responsible to provide staff development expertise as an educator, consultant, facilitator, change agent and researcher. Supports the development of the bedside nurse and fosters empowerment through knowledge to achieve excellence through the delivery of evidenced based nursing practice.

Key Output
- Orient all new nursing practitioners according to Mediclinic Middle Easts policy
- Identify clinical learning needs of individual nursing staff acted on and facilitate provision of same.
- Promote unit based academic tutorials.
- Formulate and Facilitate Nursing education modules and refresher courses.
- Support and promote General Health Education by liaising and participating with other health care professionals in the UAE
- Identify nursing staff send for open-invitation education programmes
- Evaluate and train nursing staff in defined areas of need, specifically CPR
- Participate in design and implementation of competency based education programs
- Competency certificates issued
- Participate in nursing Quality Assurance Committee.
- Records of tutorial attendance/evaluation documented and maintained
- Individual educational needs and attainments documented and maintained
- Educational activities plan provided to Nursing Director monthly/annually
- Input given to compile monthly report
- Participate in formal and informal education
- Act as a nursing research resource for health care workers.
- Financial controls are maintained within unit as delegated
- Give input for preparation of annual budget as delegated
- Request for external training/conferences is authorized by the Nursing Director and Hospital Director
- Training expense is within allocated budget and is authorized
- Cheques are requested in line with financial procedures
- Training expense reflects commitment to the Training Needs Plan
- Stock and equipment is managed and controlled according to hospital policy
- Life support equipment and stock are managed and controlled according to Code Blue policy
- Contribute to Risk Management of the hospital
- Continuous improvement projects are implemented and monitored
- Quality Improvement Training participated in / attended
- Care practices critically appraised and implement appropriate quality improvement strategies
- Processes and outcome of care monitored and documented

Requirements

- Qualification and Experience in Labor and Delivery and/or NICU or Paediatrics is essential.
- Qualification as a Nursing Educator / Clinical Educator would be preferred
- Minimum five years clinical nursing experience is highly recommended
- Life Support Instructor in BLS and NRP/PALS would be an advantage
