Cluster Director of Security

The Cluster Director of Security is responsible to protect and safeguard all hotel guests, colleagues, their belongings and all hotel assets. He/she is ensuring that all Business Units (Fairmont The Palm, Th8, Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Lakes Towers and Riva Beach Club) are adequately secured at all times.

Responsibilities:

- Behaves and acts as a manager in an exemplary fashion, embodying the brand mindset, manages the security team, helping them improve their skills and providing support for career development
- Ensures the safety and security of all hotel guests and colleagues in all 4 Business Units
- Ensures all regulations with regards to safety and security are being met
- Ensures the risk for the hotels with regards to guests and colleagues' incidents is kept to a minimum
- Ensures high rating on the annual security audit
- Effectively manages supplier and valet contracts
- To undertake full responsibility of the security teams for managing and to enforce security policies and procedures in accordance with Accor guidelines and also ensure compliance to all local regulations.
- To provide supervisory guidance and support to all security personnel within the security department.
- To create a safe and secure environment for the guest and colleagues
- To develop, implement and enforce the standard operating security procedures.
- To develop and train hotel colleagues in firefighting, fire evacuation as per local civil defense.
- To be responsible for the life safety policies and procedures as dictated by local civil defense
- To be responsible for the day to day operation of the Security Department and should effectively enforce hotel's rule and regulations.
- To supervise the administration of lost and found with daily audits and exercise gate pass control procedure.
- To protect all Business Units' assets.
- To be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year
- To ensure that the ALL Safe precautionary measures are well implemented in all departments
- To guide and train the ALL Safe officers
- To provide supervisory guidance and manage the recreation team (lifeguards)
- To know and apply in all business units the Accor APACHE security and evacuation procedures
- Organizes monthly department meeting and distribute minute of meeting.
- Ensures the safety and security of guest, staff, visitors and contractors at all times.
- Responsible to manage all safety & security, Fire Life Safety and food hygiene risks faced by the Business Units.
- Liaises with all department heads to ensure hotel employees are adhering to established security procedures.
- Records and notify all risks, deviations from hotels safety standards and any untoward incidents.
- Tracks departmental safety record and document medically treated and non-treated injuries.
- Recruits and train the security team in all Business Units
- Handles complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.
- Develops and maintains a monthly checklist for all CCTV equipment, alarmed doors, and panic / duress alarms to ensure that they are fully functional.
- Conducts regular mock fire evacuation drill as per the hotels emergencies standards.
- Develops and advise key personnel of emergency procedures.
- Implements action plans to monitor and control risk.
- Establishes crisis management and contingency planning.
- Conducts regular walk-through rounds to observe all Business Units.
- Maintain confidentiality of guests and colleagues at all times
- Other duties as assigned by the Management

Requirements

Qualifications and requirements:

- Bachelor degree in Hotel Management
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in Luxury Hotels
- UAE experience is a must
- Significant years of experience in a similar position
- Experienced in investigation, interrogation and establishing reports.
- Fluent in English and Arabic is an added advantage
- Crisis management and interaction management.
- Keen eye for detail.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Physical stamina
- Able to remain calm and professional under pressure
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times
