Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

A Commercial Administrator is required by Atkins Middle East to support the Regional Commercial Director with the day-to-day administration of the Commercial Function and supporting internal projects for improvement of contract and commercial practice in region. Based in Dubai but with regular travel in region.

Responsibilities:
- Administration of the Strategic and Operational Risk Management System (Active Risk Manager, “ARM”) and creation of monthly reports
- Attending and recording minutes of the monthly Middle East Risk Committee Meetings
- Planning, facilitating and recording minutes for monthly Commercial Manager’s meetings
- Assistance with planning, content, materials and presentation of commercial related training and development across the Middle East business
- Development and management of content of the Commercial Sharepoint pages accessed via the Middle East intranet
- Collection and collation of registers in relation to forthcoming Major Project and project opportunities, to support planning for review, authorization and signature availability. Reports on individual opportunities for board meetings.
- Collection of information and notification of potential Professional Indemnity Insurance Claims through the Atkins system, following up on status updates through ARM
- Maintaining insurance registers and managing the annual renewal process each March-April
- Maintaining the registers of POA (Power of Attorney) holders and managing timely updates and renewals
- Responding to commercial process and procedure queries as assistance to Divisional Commercial Managers

Requirements

- Degree level qualification in business, commerce, law, business finance or equivalent related discipline. Alternatively graduate in a design discipline relevant to Middle East business, with a will to develop into a commercial role.
- Experience with consultancy and design contract administration
- Experience or qualification in risk management processes
- Knowledge and experience of consultancy contracts
- Experience with Major Projects and their controls
- Have an excellent command of the English language; for the comprehension of contractually and commercially significant documents, for written reports and communications and for oral communication at meetings, presentations and delivery of training materials.
- High level of statistical and financial numeracy for comprehension and preparation of reports and presentation material
- Competent with the use of standard office software- Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio desirable
- Be personally well planned, organized and disciplined
- Be self-motivated, persistent in nature with a can-do attitude for self-development and in particular the development of good contract and commercial understanding and practice across the business.
- A questioning mind with the confidence to challenge statements, positions and decisions that appear incongruous with the aims and objectives of the business

Atkins Group is developing a portfolio of training modules within a framework for the development of the commercial function within the business; you would take part in such training as part of a development plan agreed with the Regional Commercial Director
