Commercial Lawyer

Job description / Role

Responsibilities:
• Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on various aspects of commercial law, including corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and commercial contracts
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including but not limited to, sale and purchase agreements, distribution agreements, licensing agreements, and service contracts
• Conduct legal research and analysis on complex commercial issues and provide strategic recommendations to clients
• Assist clients with regulatory compliance matters, including licensing requirements, data protection, and anti-corruption laws
• Represent clients in commercial disputes and negotiations, including mediation, arbitration, and litigation proceedings
• Collaborate with colleagues across different practice areas to provide integrated legal solutions to clients
• Stay updated on developments in commercial law and industry trends that may impact clients' businesses
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and other stakeholders

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in law from a reputable university; Master's degree or additional certifications in commercial law preferred
• Admission to practice law in Dubai or eligibility to register with the Dubai Legal Affairs Department
• Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing commercial law at a reputable law firm or in-house legal department
• In-depth knowledge of UAE commercial laws and regulations, as well as international best practices
• Proven experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are a plus
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
