Job description / Role
The Commercial Manager will be responsible for the commercial aspects of a specific section of the overall Project, managing their own commercial teams and will report directly to the Head of Commercial.
The position includes contract administration, cost & budget control, income strategies, supply chain management and other related commercial activities.
* Negotiating and agreeing final accounts
* Attend both internal (site management team & senior management) and external (client, consultants, subcontractors etc.) meetings where issues of a commercial and/or contractual nature are going to be raised and defend the company position where necessary.
* Maintain contractual awareness amongst members of the site management team
* Management and mentoring of subordinate commercial staff.
* Assist in maintaining proper records - i.e. correspondence, variations, claims;
* Ensuring compliance with company policies in respect of procedures, reporting etc.
* Maximization of revenue entitlement and recovery to ensure project profitability;
* Accurate financial forecasting to contribute to accurate company forecasting
Requirements
* BSc (Quantity Surveying); or BSc (Civil Engineering).
* Minimum 15 years post qualification experience with a Contractor of which at least 5 years must have been as a Commercial Manager
* Experience on projects in excess of AED 100 million in value
* Experience in the lead site based commercial role on projects in excess of AED 100 million in value
* Previous Middle East experience required.
