Commis Chef

Job description / Role

The Commis Chef will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef and Sous Chef in preparing and cooking food according to the restaurant's standards and recipes. The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of experience in a similar role in the food and beverage industry.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in preparing and cooking food according to the restaurant's standards and recipes.
• Follow proper food handling, storage, and hygiene practices at all times.
• Help maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
• Assist in inventory management and tracking of food and supplies.
• Collaborate with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to create new dishes and menus.
• Ensure that all food is cooked and presented according to the restaurant's standards and within the designated time frame.
• Monitor food quality and presentation, making adjustments as needed.
• Follow all safety and sanitation procedures and regulations.
• Assist with training and mentoring new kitchen staff.

Salary:
AED 2,000 to 2,200 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Commis Chef in the food and beverage industry.
• Knowledge of different cooking techniques and cuisines.
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Culinary degree or certification is a plus.
