Employment: Full Time

Charterhouse are currently managing a search for a leading international shipping operator, whom are in the process of looking to recruit a Commodity Research Analyst, within their regional hub.

Supporting a centralised Risk function, this role will take oversight of the analysis of market trends, economic variables and statistical evaluation, which in turn help determine the outlook of price-points, across the range of dry bulk commodities within their shipping lines. This shall also involve detailed economic and financial analysis, to assess macro-economic factors, whilst developed strong internal reports through financial modelling, to support commercial decisions at C-level within the organisation. The role will also take responsibility for the development of forecasting and planning tools, through data capture and analysis, whilst in turn building quantitative models to assist in the evaluation and approximation of future supply & demand dynamics, price-points and global trends.

Requirements

Our client will look to hire a young, bright and junior professional; whom can demonstrate a Degree qualification in the field of economics and/or corporate finance. The niche nature of the role means that a specific industry background isn’t a prerequisite. However, our client will look for a candidate whom can demonstrate advanced Excel and financial modelling capabilities, combined with an ability to identify and evaluate all economic criterion with the dry bulk commodities sector. Coupled with this, the successful candidate shall possess report-generation skills, whereby analysis can be presented to top management within accurate, clear and robust formats. Due to the nature of the industry and their international markets; any applicant needs to aware of and comfortable with a Monday to Friday working week.
