Employment: Full Time

Argyll Scott are currently partnering with a large group who are looking for a Commodity Trader to sit within their Treasury function.

You will play a vital role in the Treasury department, being at the focal point of understanding and managing the Groups financials risks and systems. You will work closely with the Group Treasury Director and other members of the team to manage the following responsibilities:

- Assist in the design and execution of hedging strategies for foreign currency risk, commodity and interest rate risk via the use of derivatives / report as appropriate to the Financial Risk Committee
- Develop a comprehensive process for identification and mitigation of critical treasury risks
- Work with business units to understand reported currency and commodity exposures and ensure accurate and timely forecasts
- Assist in the preparation of the Monthly Treasury Report
- Further enhance reporting within the department, ensure adequate systems exist to improve automation/ efficiency. Build/ensure that available analytic capabilities exist for managing risk (pricing models, risk assessment tools, forecasting models)
- Hedge Documentation and Effectiveness tests preparation/ Train other members of the team on hedge accounting
- Participate in new debt issuance and management of existing debt
- Participate in the assessment, procurement and implementation of a new Treasury Management System
- Manage and improve the Groups banking and payment systems and controls
- Lead special projects and drive continuous improvement within the Treasury Function
- Support business units across the Group

Requirements

- University graduate in Finance, MSc in Finance/ MBA preferred
- 8-10 years experience in a Treasury Department including a minimum of 2-3 years practical experience of working in a corporate treasury function in a large, international organization managing financing risk
- Strong understanding of derivative instruments (forwards, futures and options) and IASB hedge accounting rules is essential / Strong quantitative skills and proven experience in executing hedge strategies
- In-depth knowledge of financial markets
- Ability to solve problems / proactively identify and manage risk / opportunity assessment
- Strong communication skills and an ability to communicate effectively with non-specialists
- Recent experience of implementing or updating a Treasury Management System
- Team player with ability to work under pressure
- Leadership skills/ Ability to lead and manage change
- Strong personality who has the experience and credibility to push back on the business to drive change
