Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Communications Coordinator is an integral team member of the Communications Dept. The role supports the departments’ drive to enhance the individual brand reputations and increase customer awareness. The Corporate Communications Coordinator’s main task is to assist with day-to-day coordination of activities within the department.

Communications Support
- Ensure daily coordination with PRs assisting them in tasks and activities for the Dept./brand
- Maintain and update the Communications activities calendar and communicate updates internally to the Communications team.
- Monitor and report competitor launches and subsequent media coverage.
- Ensure smooth execution of all order processing, tracking and distribution of PR product and press gifts
- Coordinate booking for Communications activities (flights, hotels etc)
- Follow up and finalize with second or third parties on materials / services etc related to Communications activities to ensure flawless delivery for activities.
- Coordinate with inventory of PR products with to ensure most current and valid products are being used. Assist in preparation of gifts as necessary.
- Assist with Press which includes but not limited to:
- Press kits/material: prepare, compile and dispatch press kits, products material to send to press.
- Monitor Media.
- Coordinate with translator.
- Event/photo shoot coordination
- Ability to show interest in keeping abreast of social media
- Continuous up date of the master media list for brands, categories and medium.
- Monthly press clipping reports: responsible to compile, scan and prepare document on a monthly basis. Ensure notable coverage is scanned clearly and file properly in Server.

Corporate Social Responsibility
- Support the team in all Communications events or project based work.
- Look for locally relevant charities / events for brands which are in line with the global strategy and goals.

Media Relation
- Establish and maintain good relationship with Media through constant interaction and follow-ups on coverage.
- Build and maintain good relationship with Media including print, television and radio contacts, online, bloggers and influencers etc…

Financial
- Coordinate accurate ledger of accounts related to Communications activities and liaise on payables.
- Gather and suggest creative ideas to support the team in maximizing the budget.
- Coordinate and ensure all receipts/expenses are managed to track and include on the PR financial report.

Others
- Perform other duties as assigned in line with role and corporate strategy.
- Lead by example to create an environment that is encouraging, respectful, and motivational and builds team co-operation.
- Reflect ELC and brands grooming guidelines at all times.
- Follows and communicates brand philosophy to the internal and external groups and media.
- Enhance self-understanding of product information, Communications and Marketing calendar, and sub-categories under the Communications Dept.
- Manage workload/deadlines effectively

Requirements

- Experience in both consumer media relations and special events planning
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point
- Arabic Speaking – advantageous but not required
