The power, process & nuclear division are heavily involved in a multimillion dollar nuclear construction project in the Al Ruwais area of Abu Dhabi. We are seeking a Construction Director to direct, lead and control the implementation of interface processes among various construction disciplines within the client's site location and coordinate with the Prime Contractor of issues relating to the Nuclear Power Plant in accordance with the contract terms and conditions to the highest safety and quality standards while achieving cost and schedule plans.

Job description:

Management of all construction power plant oversight activities;
* Direct and lead safety, quality and schedule oversight in order to ensure appropriate management for all Power Block and Infrastructure System and Components (SSC). This includes leading and directing all construction disciplines of Civil &Architectural; Mechanical & Piping; Electrical; Instrumentation & Control and Coordination teams. It also includes special teams for Switchyard (SWYD) works.
* Ensure discipline teams provide suggestions to help making decisions that meet project objectives
* Direct discipline teams to advise corrective actions or methods of repair for any deficiency or non-=conformance identified in order to ensure work is carried out in an adequate and correct manner
* Write and initiate construction department procedures and checklists providing direction to all discipline managers for their team procedures and checklists

Project Management;
* Provide methodical approach in the oversight of initiation, planning, executing, controlling and closing of the projects as it related to the Construction completion of Power Block, Infrastructure, Switchyard, PPS and the overall perimeter fence.
* Drive the theme of Plan-Do-Check-Act process, and reflect this in department procedures, processes and execution of the site works

People Management;
* Manage the effective achievement of organisations objectives by setting individual targets, developing and motivating staff, provisions of formal and informal feedback and appraisal - in order to maximise subordinate and department performance
* Contribute to the development of UAE National employees in a manner which supports the objectives of the corporation and its Emiratization strategy
* Contribute to knowledge dissemination/sharing in a way that assists with building internal capabilities of UAE Nationals where applicable and maximize their effective performance

Stakeholder Management;
* Facilitate communication both internally and externally to build and nurture mutually beneficial working relationships

HSE;
* Ensure compliance to all relevant health, safety and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality service and a responsibility to environmental attitude.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering; specifically electrical or mechanical for this role with Project management, Master's degree preferred.

You will be a chartered professional engineer/certified project manager with relevant experience in the execution of planning, engineering, administration, construction, quality, safety and commissioning of Nuclear Power Projects.

Previous experience working during planning and design and development through construction of a Nuclear Power Plant is essential for this role.
