The power, process & nuclear division works within four main sectors which include the following: - nuclear, defence, industry and process and power civil's. We have a successful and distinguished track record of delivering innovative and robust solutions to the standards required by the nuclear industry. The division has long standing relationships with some of the key clients in this sector.

We are actively seeking a construction electrical engineer to join our client based onsite near Abu Dhabi. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to work within a specialist nuclear organisation. This would be for a period of 12 months initially with a possible extension.

The job is to carry out activities to ensure the electrical construction activities are performed in accordance with the project documents, including but not limited to contract, policies, manuals, drawing, specifications, procedures, external stakeholders' requirements and schedules to the highest safety and quality standards while achieving cost and schedule plans.

* Participate in the provision of safety, quality and schedule oversight in order to ensure appropriate oversight for all power block and/or marine structures, systems and components (SSCs), including but not limited to; site grading, excavation, backfilling, dewatering, soil investigation, rebar installation, concrete placement (mudmats, basemats, bottom/top slabs and walls), structural steel erection, architectural finishing/ coating/painting and all associated electrical testing for the SSC's
* Participate in recommending corrective actions or methods of repair for any deficient or non-conformance identified in order to ensure work is carried out in an adequate and correct manner
* Provide oversight guidance and advice (as required) to the head of construction electrical, the prime contractor and subcontractor to support construction methods, materials, equipment and work sequences
* Monitor project safety objectives and implement the appropriate corrective action where necessary in order to ensure that all relevant objectives are fulfilled
* Participate in initiatives aiming at establishing, implementing and maintaining the oversight of electrical construction activities to ensure timely project completion
* Assist in presenting ideas for the overall project benefits to support the clients goals and objectives
* Recommend stoppage of work when the required quality or safety of work operations are in doubt in order to ensure work excellence and ethics regarding safety measures
* Ensure that all work is performed in the safest and professional manner to meet overall project objectives in compliance with relevant policies and regulations
* Ensure appropriate work progress in accordance with the quality requirements as specified by design documents including but not limited to drawings and specifications to ensure that project objectives are met in a timely manner
* Provide oversight management of the prime contractor in order to ensure expectations are met in the execution of build-clean, foreign material exclusion, housekeeping and observation programmes in the construction of SSC's
* Support the theme of plan-do-check-act process and reflect this in department procedures, processes and execution of the works
* Prepare reports on all issues that may effect on project progress to the head of construction electrical
* Follow all relevant HSE policies, processes, procedures and instructions

Requirements

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a diploma with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a nuclear power plant.
