Consultant Gastroenterologist

Job description / Role

We are recruiting for a Consultant Gastroenterologist (Adult) for an exciting opening in the United Arab Emirates. Our client who is based in Abu Dhabi is a state of the art clinic providing specialist care and treatment to patients whilst investing and developing healthcare knowledge within the region. Due to international partnerships research is at the forefront of care provided and patients interact with the renowned surgeons and physicians.

The Consultant Gastroenterologist will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in an outpatient Medical Centre setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.

Please note the targeted start date for the position is dependent on the current timeline for the project. Likewise, the processing of licensing (if applicable)/ visas etc. also need to be considered. We will advise candidates specifically when we discuss the opportunity.

Requirements

* Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent).
* MRCP or equivalent, Higher degree or diploma (e.g., MD, PhD or equivalent).
* Full Registration with GMC and CCT in Gastroenterology and General (Internal) Medicine (or equivalent). At this time our client is considering candidates with specialist training from the United Kingdom or the United States of America.
* Wide experience in all aspects of luminal Gastroenterology, culminating in award of CCST.
* Specialist training in Gastroenterology.
* Well trained in the use of intravenous sedation.
* Experience in day to day organisation of Gastroenterology services.
* Understanding of the principles of Medical Centre governance.
* Thorough understanding of principles of medical audit.

DESIRABLE:
* Currently working in Abu Dhabi, UAE and holding a HAAD License.
* Particular interest and experience in managing patients with complex gastrointestinal diseases. Interest in developing nutritional services.
* Familiar with structures and practices of running a Medical Centre.
* Management course and/or qualification.
* Professional published work.
