Adept Personnel are proud to be working with one of the rapidly growing marine construction main contracting company in the GCC that delivers a unique approach and strategic execution to all of their projects. Our Clients capabilities and experience span across the construction industry covering several fields of civil and marine construction, Oil & Gas – Onshore and Offshore Works.

You will be located in Dubai, working both in the office and on the project site. The client have an existing marine project that involves the construction of a large Breakwater to replace three previously smaller constructs. The project will require a lot of your attention on site, until the closing stages where you will be focused mainly in the office. The project is set to be completed by the end of 2016, when this position will be re-focused onto other projects from the Dubai office.

Our client needs a Contracts and Commercial Manager with a QS background to bring the necessary expertise and knowledge to this particular project and to the company as a permanent member of the team. You will need to have marine/offshore project experience in a similar position.

Some of the Key duties and responsibilities include:
- Preparing, assisting in negotiating and administering the various supply/construction contracts and consultancy agreements.
- Reviewing all contractual notices of claims and providing contractual advice in relation thereto.
- Interacting with the clients, sub-contractors, vendors and consultants in respect of all contractual matters
- Reviewing tender documents and draft contract documents prepared by others to verify lack of ambiguity and conflicts as well as compliance with the client’s contract forms and related procedures

Requirements

- Certification in quantity surveying is preferred. University degree in law/ an engineering field or
- Adequate training and hands on professional experience for claims and be competent to act
- At least 4-5 years’ experience as commercial and contracts manager
- Significant experience with large marine industry contractors
- Minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in a similar position(essential)
- Minimum of 10-15 year experience (total)
- Experience in International projects
