Employment: Full Time

Our client is seeking experienced mid career level Contracts Managers or Senior Quantity Surveyors/Contracts Administrators who wish to move into a Contracts Manager role.

The Contract Manager shall be responsible for reviewing the contractual risks and opportunities for an awarded project.

The Contract Manager has full responsibility for the Project team. Supervise the activities of the' contract/commercial team both in their productivity and the technical adequacy of their output.

The Contract Manager has full responsibility towards the Quantity Surveying team. Supervise the activities of the commercial both in their productivity and the technical adequacy of their output. Conduct staff appraisals in accordance with company procedures.

The Contract Manager must ensure the Contract wellbeing of the Company is protected at all times.

The Contract Manager is also responsible for, but not limited to, the following;
- Attend the formal handover from Proposals and Estimating at the start of the project in accordance with the Company's Procedures.
- Establish the initial contingency amounts are defined and effectively minimise the identified risks to limit the Company's exposure to the identified risk.
- Establish the Tender Budget vs. Target Budget and associated procurement strategies to deliver the Supply Chain elements of the Project.

- Establish and define any project oriented Commercial procedures and identify the level of resources required to operate them.

- Establish and agree the level and frequency of reporting required by the project.
- Review overall contract project status with the Project Control team and Project Management and recommend corrective action where necessary.

- Ensure that all cost reports are prepared and issued in accordance with the Project Procedure.
- Liaise with other Departments at all meetings relevant to project operations and ensure that the cost plans are updated to reflect latest information
- Prepare in the external valuations to the contractual requirement and to ensure full recovery of contractual entitlement is achieved.
- Follow up on all external payment issues and advice Project Manager of any issues affecting payment.
- Ensure all contractual notices are issued according to the time limits defined.
- Ensure all details are issued to ensure compliance with the Contractual Agreement toward submission of initial estimations and detailed variations.
- Review and report on all incoming and outgoing documentation to establish if there are any commercial risks or opportunities.
- Establish and update the Procurement Schedule and report on the overall procurement process.
- Review and report on status of all shop drawing/material approvals to ensure they are completed in time to satisfy the required dates as the Procurement Schedule. Where delays are encountered advice the Project Manager and assist in determining a strategy to mitigate.
- Ensure all material take offs are complete to the best available information in time to satisfy the required dates as the Procurement Schedule. Minimise over quantification on orders due to incorrect inefficiency calculations (i.e. wastage)
- Issue Invitations to Tender ensuring all required documents are included and the dates meet the

Procurement Schedule.
- Ensure full commercial analysis of the returned suppliers/subcontractor bids. Ascertain a contingency cost for any non-compliance issues.

Requirements

Must have a minimum of 5 years post graduation experience and have a degree in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering. Fluency in the English language is essential. These jobs are available in Dubai Abu Dhabi and Qatar.
