Job description / Role
Candidates who meet the following criteria will be considered:
• Currently working as a corporate lawyer or legal consultant in the UAE, with 10 years’ post qualification legal experience in a multinational organisation or international law firm in the UAE.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Law – BSc (Hons) from an accredited university is mandatory.
• Currently living in the GCC, preferably the United Arab Emirates.
• Bilingual fluency in English and Arabic – must be able to read, write and speak fluent English and Arabic.
Client Profile:
Our client is a well-established locally owned organisation with diverse business activities and we are recruiting an experienced Arabic in-house corporate lawyer to support the organisation by advising on legal and commercial matters related to their business units. Reporting to the Managing Director, the JAFZA based role will focus on commercial risk management, contract drafting and reviewing, legal corporate governance and internal compliance.
Responsibilities:
• Review and interpret legal matters, draft and amend legal documents including contracts, notices, MoUs, MoAs, Power of Attorney, partnerships, labor law and legal opinions for all matters.
• Handling litigation, arbitration and dispute proceedings and resolutions.
• Provide legal guidance in structuring, drafting and negotiating commercial terms related to sales, purchasing, partnerships, procurement, supply chain, distribution, real estate, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, technology and data privacy.
• Liaise with external legal consultants and counsel.
Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience Required
• 10 years’ post qualification commercial legal experience in a UAE / GCC multi-national organisations related to FMCG, trading and distribution, with excellent working knowledge of UAE and GCC region legal frameworks related to contractual, supply chain and distribution regulations, UAE employment law, data privacy and partnerships.
• Ability to work independently and manage complex legal matters with strong commercial negotiation and arbitration skills.
• UAE driving license is mandatory.
Education
• Bachelor’s Degree in Law from an accredited university in the UK or USA is mandatory.
Candidate Profile
• Bilingual fluency in English and Arabic – must be able to read, write and speak fluent English and Arabic.
• Aged between 30 – 40 years and currently living in the UAE.
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills with the ability to manage senior level stakeholder relationships.
