Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Our client, a semi government organization, is currently looking for a Cultural Affairs Manager to be based in Abu Dhabi. In this role, you will be responsible to develop and manage local, regional and international cultural relations. To research and identify international opportunities to assist in developing and maintaining key strategic partnerships. To contribute to developing corporate communications content. To effectively support the overall objectives of the External Affair.

External Communication:

Direct:
• Local, regional, and international visitors, Arts & Cultural Associations, Artists & agencies
• Cultural Affairs Agency

Written:
• VIPs, Dignitaries, and Royal Protocol
• Leading international figures in arts and culture
• Stakeholders (advisors, board, etc.)
• Authorities / Organizations / Institutions

Other responsibilities will include but not limited to:
• Develop direct relationships for company with key cultural organizations locally, regionally, and internationally
• Engage in collaborative development of program elements and/or co-commissions and co-productions with partner organizations
• Research and monitor activities of key regional and international festivals and cultural organizations
• Research potential themes, speakers and prepare discussion papers, as well participate in planning the full programme.
• Collaborate with our local diplomatic partners, take the lead on specific projects/initiatives with the diplomatic community as required
• Formalize relations with key international partners with Letters of Cooperation and/or Memorandums of Understanding
• Manage existing partnerships with local, regional, and international partners which company has signed letters of agreements
• Research and recommend regional and international trips, conferences, festivals, awards, recognitions and opportunities for company and the Founder in the arts and culture sector
• Manage company’s memberships in relevant networking organizations
• Oversee all visiting guests of the Foundation
• Execute public affairs communication strategy best cultivates and builds upon existing relations with strategic partners
• Attend meetings with the Founder: ensure preliminary research and pre-meeting notes are provided to Founder ahead of time; document meetings with detailed minutes
• Support the Business Development Manager with ideas and information
• Manage the cultural affair agency account
• Manage the process/issuance of all company’s newsletters to company’s network
• Perform other tasks pertinent to the function as required
• Review all Festival publications, in coordination with the Marketing Department, to ensure artists information is accurate.

Requirements

To be considered for the role, you need to meet the following criteria:
• Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree related to Arts or Education
• Must have PR exposure particularly press releases.
• Significant solid experience in an External Affairs / Institutional Advancement role, either in a non-profit organization or an arts organization
• Very flexible and open to travel as and when required
