Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Laboratory Technologist is responsible for independently performing routine tests in a clinical laboratory and contributing to the general maintenance of the laboratory, equipment and supplies.

In addition to this, the Laboratory Technologist is expected to coordinate and participate in the performance and interpretation of complex technical duties in support of medical laboratory testing; record determinations and results for review by laboratory management and physician/caregiver staff.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field from a recognized college or University. OR met the minimal educational and experience requirements as outlined by a nationally recognized Med Tech certifying body
- Current license to practice as a Laboratory Technician from home country or in the UAE
- Current and Valid Basic Life Support Certificate
- Minimum two years full time clinical laboratory experience in Cytology preparation in a hospital environment
- Knowledge of Laboratory terminologies as applied in the specific and related areas of specialization
- Good knowledge in using Laboratory equipment
- Ability to perform quality checks, testing and troubleshooting of equipment
- Knowledgeable in Approved International Accreditation Standards or equivalent
- Ability to works independently within set guidelines
- Knowledgeable in using Laboratory information systems with the ability to generate reports if required
- Fluent in written and spoken English; Arabic language skills will be well regarded
- Good computer skills, particularly in MS Office
