Atkins have recently developed a “One Atkins 2020” strategy for the future. To support this initiative Atkins Group IS have defined an operating model for 2020 to revolutionise the way IS services are provided to the company, moving from a ‘Business as Usual’ focus to an organisation driven by Business Value. Key concepts include: transitioning to digital products, adopting agile delivery approaches across the organisation, leveraging cloud services, and applying focus to supporting Atkins project bids and delivery.

Be responsible for the delivery, on-going success and continuous improvement of backlog for digital products or services in the Digital Engineering space. Lead and motivate agile teams that bridge the gap between Atkins’ business and our clients, and the development and technical worlds. Deliver multiple new products, or existing product enhancements from conception to launch.

Key Deliverables/Responsibilities
- Facilitate and lead temporary and globally distributed teams in agile methodologies to deliver innovation, incubation and iteration of digital products for Digital Engineering.
- Listen to, understand, consult and influence user needs and priorities, working closely with Product Owners to gather product requirements and validate ideas through the delivery process.
- Create effective, prioritised product descriptions and backlogs to meet user needs in a cost effective way, keeping continually up to date with changes to user preferences and behaviours across the relevant digital platforms.
- Support the delivery of digital products and services through effective analysis of qualitative and quantitative user data.
- Deliver subject-matter-expertise consultancy to business partners to support bids or service delivery.
- Build and maintain relationships with the 3rd party software providers to establish positive working relationships and establish supply chain efficiencies.
- Focus on automation of testing, release and validated learning through user metrics for products

Requirements

- Well-rounded individual who will contribute to a highly effective team delivering products to our customers.
- Have a bias toward action and can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development at speed.
- Will be able to demonstrate how to put the customer first with strong customer communications and the ability to validate product ideas.
- A breadth and depth knowledge in products and services associated with Digital Engineering and specifically for Design & 5. Authoring, have an excellent understanding of the designer toolset used across various business sectors, examples being, Autocad, Revit, Civil3D, Aecosym, Tekla and PDMS.
- Experience of the Product Management role of maintaining a product backlog and driving agile using SCRUM, Kanban or some other agile methodology.
- Proactive and able to identify and deliver improvements and new products to meet the demands of the business and bring cost and process efficiencies, backed up with a good understanding of the market offerings in the Digital Engineering space.
- An entrepreneurial and resourceful drive with appreciation of user-experience, business and commercial issues.
- Experience of working with software suppliers and vendors.

Desirable
- A hands-on software development experience would be a significant benefit.
