Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Assists Dental Doctors (in all levels) in the Dental/Maxillo-Facial Department during procedure performances.
- Maintains high-level and professional performance according to internal hospital standards.
- Receives professional and administrative direction from the senior staff member to ensure adherence to existing Hospital and Department policies.
- Works under full professional supervision by the supervising senior staff.
- Anticipates the Dentist’s needs and practices (four-handed dentistry) to provide efficient operative procedures for the patient or as assigned to a dental surgical operating team.
- Performs expanded duty procedures under the supervision of the dentist as required, the patient’s history; flags the chart to note significant history problems.
- Responsible for proper practice of infection control guidelines in all dental clinical areas.
- Prepares the necessary materials and sterilized instruments needed for the day.
- Responsible in recording all patient’s data accurately and promptly, indicating thereon the chief complaint, diagnosis, treatment and administered as done by the surgeon.
- Gives the maximum care to the patient for them to be confident and comfortable.

Requirements

- Education: Graduate of General Dentistry or Nursing with dental experience and further training preferred.
- Experience: Minimum two (2) years from a reputable hospital or healthcare facility.
- Knowledge/Skills: With broad knowledge in the assigned area of specialty and hospital management including policies, procedures, and standard medical practices applicable to area of specialization. Thorough knowledge of medical and professional ethics. Demonstrated knowledge of theoretical, clinical and technical aspects in both ambulatory and hospital setting.
- Equipment Operated: Diagnostic and medical equipment related to specialty.
- Licensure: Registered Dental Assistant / RN Dental Assistant as per DOH / DHA / MOH PQR eligibility
- Languages: Proficiency in English. Arabic is an added advantage.
