Job description / Role
Our client is a leading global design, architecture and planning firm who are seeking a Design Architect specialising in retail centres and mixed-use projects to join their team;
The Retail Architectural Designer is responsible for assisting the Design Manager with project coordination from design development through contract administration. Sometimes acts in role of Project Architect on projects.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Project Manager with client/project coordination
- Coordination of construction document preparation with supervision by Project Manager
- Provide assistance in Construction Administration
Requirements
- Professional Degree in Architecture required
- Registration preferred
- Experience in construction document preparation and field observation
- Knowledge of standard office policies and procedures
- Competent knowledge of building materials, specifications and construction techniques
- Experience in dealing with building codes and zoning ordinances
- Ability to communicate with clients, consultants and contractors
- Sufficient knowledge of engineering disciplines to coordinate work
- Knowledge of construction process sufficient to coordinate project with contractor
- Knowledge of professional ethics applying to the practice of architecture
- 5-10 Years of relative experience in Retail Centers / Mixed Use firms
- Excellent skills in AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, MS Office, Adobe Suite
- First-rate written and verbal communication business skills
