Job description / Role
Client is a leading international architecture and design company and they are looking for design director (architecture) and a design director (interriors design) to work out of their Abu Dhabi offices.
The ideal design directors will lead a creative, collaborative team dedicated to innovative problem solving and design excellence. Use your unique design perspective to bring new approaches to design process and strategy, develop next-generation talent.
The main responsibilities for the design director are as follows:
* Lead the creative efforts on client projects, developing overall design concepts and design presentation strategies
* Mentor and provide creative direction to design teams
* Act as the primary design interface with clients and consultants
* Collaborate with team members and colleagues to promote an inter-disciplinary design approach and philosophy
* Participate in business development and marketing efforts
The quialifications needed for the design director are as follows:
* Extensive professional experience in the Middle East
* Advanced degree in Architecture or Design preferred
* Experience creating and developing overall design concepts and formulating design presentation strategies with an understanding of trends in large, shell/core architectural design
* Outstanding graphic presentation skills
* Proven track record of success in maintaining and growing client relationships
* Strong, persuasive communicator with excellent verbal presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex design concepts to clients
* International design experience a plus
* A desire to mentor team members, offer guidance and leadership
* Experience with Revit, AutoCad and other relevant software
Requirements
The ideal design director will need to have experience creating and developing overall design concepts and formulating design presentation strategies with an understanding of trends in large, shell/core architectural design. Ideally the candidate will also be working in a design director role presently.
