Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Provide advice and create dietary program for both In and Out patients.
- Acts as a nutrition advocate for patient care.
- Identifies patients at nutrition risk.
- Performs nutrition assessment and documents nutrition care plan in patient chart.
- Identifies, evaluates and coordinates patients receiving enteral and parenteral feedings.
- Provides education to patients, family members and other health care professionals.
- Assesses the nutritional adequacy of a patient's diet and provides nutritional supplements, if necessary.
- Evaluates the appropriate therapeutic diet based on patient's nutritional needs and health status.
- Advice the hospital catering department about the specific dietary requirements of In-patients.
- Write reports and case notes accurately and maintaining those patient records.
- Follow up on patient's progress in the wards and by further investigation.
- Be proficient in training junior staff as required.
- Continuously adhere to Al Noor Hospital Dress Code and Grooming Policy for medical professionals.
- Effectively follow the Department and Hospital Policies & Procedures and Quality Standards.
- Actively participate in other relevant activities as advised by Head of the Department/Medical Director.
- Consistently adhere to Department's duty schedule and on-call schedule.
- Adhere to the organizations code of ethics and by-laws.
- Report timely the adverse events as per the organization's policies.
- Adhere to Infection Control and Health & Safety measures.
- Respect and implement patient and family rights.
- Be actively involved in the quality improvement activities within the Department.

Requirements

- Two (2) years’ experience as clinical dietician in a health facility.
- BSc in Nutrition & Dietetics.
- HAAD/DHA License as Registered Dietician.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good command of written and spoken English language; knowledge of Arabic is preferred.
- Basic Computer Skills.
- Presentable and professional attitude.
- Able to effectively work under pressure.
- Able to relate to people from different cultural backgrounds.
- Excellent problem solving and decision making skills.
- Critical Thinking Skills.
